This is an original Reserve Bank of New Zealand one pound note from the inaugural Lefeaux series (1934–1940), bearing the signature of C.A. Lefeaux, the bank's first Governor. It’s a historical New Zealand banknote that marks the introduction of centrally issued currency in the country.

Obverse: Features a portrait of King Tāwhiao, the second Māori King, flanked by a kiwi and the New Zealand Coat of Arms, with Lefeaux’s signature visible as part of the issue. Reverse: Shows a detailed vignette of Mitre Peak in Milford Sound, a classic and recognisable New Zealand landscape scene used on early Reserve Bank notes.
