This 1898 United Kingdom Maundy set contains the traditional four Maundy coins presented by the monarch at the Maundy service and dates from the reign of Queen Victoria. The set is polished but otherwise attractive and offered without a case.
The obverse of each coin bears the veiled bust of Queen Victoria with the customary royal legend around the rim. The reverse designs show the denomination and date within traditional Victorian-era motifs used for Maundy issues.
